Trellis Terms of Service

These terms are an agreement between you and Molbak's Garden + Home ("Molbak's," "we," "us") covering your use of Trellis, our garden companion service. By creating an account you agree to them.

1. The service

Trellis helps you care for your garden: it identifies plants from photos, suggests care routines, tracks your spaces and tasks, and sends a weekly garden email. Trellis uses artificial intelligence to generate its responses.

2. Gardening advice — read this one

Trellis's plant identifications and care suggestions are generated by AI and are informational, not professional advice. They can be wrong. In particular: never eat, feed to animals, or apply to skin any plant based on a Trellis identification. Verify anything with health, safety, or significant financial consequences with a qualified professional. Molbak's staff at the store are always glad to take a second look.

3. Your account

You must be at least 13 years old and provide accurate information. You're responsible for activity under your account and for keeping your password secure. One person per account.

4. Subscription, trial, and billing

Trellis is a paid monthly subscription with a free trial for new accounts. Billing is handled by Stripe. Your subscription renews automatically each month until you cancel; cancel any time from your account settings and you keep access through the end of the paid period. Prices may change with at least 30 days' email notice — changes take effect at your next renewal, never mid-cycle. Fees already paid are non-refundable except where the law requires otherwise.

5. Fair use

The AI features are for your personal garden use and are subject to reasonable usage limits, which we may adjust to keep the service healthy for everyone. You agree not to: attempt to access other users' data; probe, overload, or disrupt the service; resell or scrape it; use it for anything unlawful; or upload content that is illegal or infringes others' rights.

6. Your content

Your photos, notes, and garden data are yours. You give us the limited license we need to operate the service — to store your content, process it with our AI provider to answer you, and include it in the emails you've asked for. We claim no other rights to it. You can export your data at any time from the app.

7. Our content

The Trellis software, design, and branding belong to Molbak's and its licensors. We give you a personal, non-transferable license to use the app while you have an account.

8. Termination

You may close your account at any time. We may suspend or close accounts that violate these terms, create risk for other users, or remain unpaid past the grace period. On closure, section 6's license ends and we delete your data per the Privacy Policy.

9. Disclaimers and limits on liability

Trellis is provided "as is." To the fullest extent the law allows: we disclaim implied warranties; we are not liable for indirect, incidental, or consequential damages (including loss of plants, crops, or garden investments); and our total liability for any claim is limited to the amount you paid us in the 12 months before the claim. Some jurisdictions don't allow certain limits, so parts of this section may not apply to you.

10. Governing law

These terms are governed by the laws of the State of Washington. Disputes will be resolved in the state or federal courts of King County, Washington.

11. Changes to these terms

We may update these terms; material changes will be announced by email or in-app notice at least 30 days before they take effect. Continuing to use Trellis after that means you accept the new terms.
